Arizona, N.C. State, UNC, Indiana, Providence Ranked In Top-5 For 2012 Recruiting Class

With Brandon Ashley, Kaleb Tarczewski, Grant Jerrett and Gabe York, Arizona currently has the best recruiting class for 2012, according to CBS Sports.

Ashley and Tarczewski are both top-10 recruits, while Jerrett and York are comfortably in the top-40.

North Carolina State follows at No. 2, with Rodney Purvis, T.J. Warren and Tyler Lewis.

North Carolina is currently ranked No. 3, even though they do not currently have any five-star prospects.

Rounding out the top-five are Indiana and Providence.

Big name prospects such as Shabazz Muhammad and Gary Harris remain without a commitment and will surely influence the final rankings.

Michigan, Texas, Kentucky, Syracuse and UCLA comprise the remainder of the top-10.

Baylor, Pitt, Maryland, Virginia, Memphis, Villanova, Michigan State, Wake Forest, Iowa and Houston are ranked 11th through 20th.

Colorado, Purdue, Florida, Texas A&M and Stanford round out the top-25.

According to a survey of more than 100 major Division 1 coaches, Russell Springmann of Texas is considered by his peers to be the one assistant coach that could most likely sign a specific recruit.

Springmann is followed by Jerrence Howard of Illinois, Butch Pierre of Oklahoma State, Dalonte Hill of Maryland and Tommy Lloyd of Gonzaga.

According to a survey of more than 100 major Division 1 coaches, John Calipari would be the number one choice if they had pick a head coach to sign a prospect.

Calipari is followed by Arizona's Sean Miller, North Carolina's Roy Williams, Rick Barnes of Texas and Florida's Billy Donovan.

Calipari has signed highly touted prospects such as John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Anthony Davis, Derrick Rose and Brandon Knight.

Davis, Drummond, Beal Headline Top-10 One-And-Done Candidates

The one-and-done college freshman really began in 2007 when high school players were no longer allowed to enter the NBA Draft.

Six freshmen, headlined by Greg Oden and Kevin Durant, were selected in the 2007 Lottery. Seven freshmen were lottery picks in 2008, but the trend has gone the other way in recent years with two in 2009, four in 2011 and four in 2011 if Enes Kanter is counted.

Headlined by Anthony Davis and Andre Drummond, ESPN's Chad Ford highlighted the ten most likely one-and-done candidates in this year's freshman class.

Joining Davis and Drummond are Bradley Beal of Florida, James McAdoo of North Carolina, Quincy Miller of Baylor, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist of Kentucky, Austin Rivers of Duke, Marquis Teague of Kentucky, Myck Kabongo of Texas and Le'Bryan Nash of Oklahoma State.
